Bangalore, India – June 15, 2021 – Alethea Communication Technologies, a renowned Wi-Fi Test equipment and broadband experience company, has proudly introduced a test suite on its market-leading WiCheck 6 platform. This suite is designed to validate the performance of home Wi-Fi Access Points against the TR-398 Issue 2 test standard established by the Broadband Forum.
The incorporation of TR-398 Issue 2 enhances the evaluation of Access Points’ capabilities and empowers the Wi-Fi ecosystem to validate the home Wi-Fi User Experience.
Chimbu K Aravind, CEO of Alethea Communications Technologies, commented on the extension of support for TR-398 Issue 2, stating, “Today, TR-398 has emerged as the need of the hour for all the telecom operators who are looking for a widely accepted test solution to evaluate the performance of Wi-Fi routers before launch. With TR-398 Issue 2, performance test cases have been added for Wi-Fi 6 and for mesh networks. At Alethea, our test system supports all the 17 test cases defined by TR-398 Issue 2 across the seven major dimensions: receiver sensitivity, throughput, coverage, multiuser support, anti-interference, stability, and mesh networks.”
Alethea’s WiCheck test platform employs a distributed device architecture to generate 10s to 1000s of clients, validating the performance, stability, functionality, and security of Access Points and End-to-End networks. It provides 100% coverage for the TR-398 Issue 2 test plan, addressing testing for new IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) technology in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
Rajesh Putiya Kunnan, Director of Sales at Alethea Communications Technologies, expressed excitement about the support for TR-398 Issue 2, emphasizing its significant benefit to telecom operator customers and their OEM/ODM partners. He highlighted the standardized, repeatable, and widely accepted test cases, addressing key performance parameters of home Wi-Fi Access Points.
